Everything you need for a smooth launch
Each guide explains what you need before starting, the exact steps, and what success looks like.
01
Buy the right service
About 5 minutes
Before you start
Know the name you want for your website and have your contact, billing and payment details ready. If you already own a domain, keep its registrar login nearby.
- Choose what you needUse the product pages or guided order wizard to compare storage, mailboxes and billing cycles. You can upgrade later.
- Add a domainRegister a new name, transfer one to AMATETA, or choose “I already own this domain” to keep it with its current registrar.
- Review your cartConfirm the service, billing term, domain spelling, taxes and total before continuing.
- Create or sign in to your accountUse an email address you can access. It receives your verification, invoice and service credentials.
- Pay securelyChoose card or EFT. Card orders normally confirm immediately; EFT orders activate after payment reflects and is matched.
- Watch for your welcome emailIt contains the next steps and service access. You can also follow status from your client dashboard.
Success looks like: your order appears under My Services and the invoice shows Paid.
02
Connect your domain
Usually 5–30 minutes
Use one of these two routes
- Domain registered with AMATETAOpen Client Area → Domains → your domain. If hosting was purchased together, the correct nameservers are usually applied automatically.
- Domain registered elsewhereOpen your hosting welcome email, copy both AMATETA nameservers, then replace the current nameservers at your registrar.
- Wait for propagationChanges often begin working within an hour but can take up to 24–48 hours worldwide because networks cache DNS.
- Verify the destinationOpen the domain in a private browser window. If it does not resolve after 24 hours, send support the domain name and a screenshot of the nameserver screen.
Important: changing nameservers can also change where email is delivered. Ask us to check your existing mail records before changing them.
03
Open your hosting
Instant after activation
- Open My ServicesSign in to your client area, choose Services, then open the active hosting service.
- Use one-click cPanel accessChoose Login to cPanel. You do not need to type the server password when launching it from your secure account.
- Upload or buildUse File Manager for an existing website, or the application installer for WordPress. Website files belong inside public_html.
- Create backups before major changesAutomatic backups protect the service, but download your own copy before plugin updates, migrations or redesigns.
Success looks like: cPanel opens and your domain displays either your website or the account’s temporary start page.
04
Set up business email
About 10 minutes
- Create the mailboxOpen your email service or cPanel Email Accounts, choose Create, enter the address and set a strong unique password.
- Test in webmail firstOpen Webmail from the client area, send a message to another address, then reply to confirm incoming and outgoing mail.
- Add it to your phone or computerChoose IMAP when asked. Copy the exact incoming server, outgoing server, ports and security settings shown in Connect Devices.
- Keep authentication enabledThe outgoing server requires the full email address and mailbox password. Do not use your client-area password.
Best practice: use IMAP so messages and folders stay synchronized across webmail, phone and laptop.
05
Launch WordPress
About 10 minutes
- Confirm the domain is connectedWordPress can install before DNS finishes, but testing is easier once the domain opens your hosting account.
- Open the WordPress installerFrom cPanel choose the WordPress application installer, then select Install.
- Choose HTTPS and the correct domainSelect https:// when SSL is active. Leave the directory field empty to install on the main domain.
- Create a secure administratorUse a username other than “admin”, generate a strong password and enter an email you monitor.
- Update before designingSign in at /wp-admin, update WordPress, themes and plugins, then remove anything unused.
Success looks like: the site opens over HTTPS and you can sign in to the WordPress dashboard.
06
Activate SSL & HTTPS
Automatic after issue
- Make sure DNS points to AMATETAThe certificate authority must be able to reach the domain before it can validate and issue SSL.
- Order the certificate you needChoose the domain, confirm the covered hostname and complete any validation request shown in your account.
- Allow automatic installationOnce issued, supported hosting services install the certificate automatically. Status changes appear in the SSL area.
- Test both versionsOpen the domain with https:// and www. Check for a padlock and no browser warning.
- Force HTTPS only after testingRedirect visitors after the certificate works, avoiding a loop or lockout caused by an early redirect.
